Born in Bolton and made in Zimbabwe, Loris has lived and worked in several countries in Europe, Africa and the Middle East. She now lives in Kent where she runs a mowl sanctuary and spends her days hunting for interesting combinations of words.
Her first book 'The Ten Riddles of Eartha Quicksmith' was included in The Observer books of the month, and The Guardian best books of the year by booksellers. It is part of the SchoolsLoveReading programme and was selected for the Summer Reading Challenge 2022 by the Reading Agency and Science Museum Group.

Much of my philosophising, pondering and diabolical scheming is done while walking the coastal path that looks out over the English Channel.
